Makena means happiness. The Mount Kenya region of Kenya is fertile and green, perhaps fitting that the Meru tribe who live there have a name for happiness: Makena, which translates loosely as one who brings happiness. This is our intention with the vibrant colors and the mash up of the tiger and cheetah prints.
Delivery and Returns
To exchange or return your product, you should mail your product to: 76156-00508 Nairobi, Kenya.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item and we are not responsible if an item gets lost during delivery. We also strongly discourage using private shipping companies to return your item to us. These companies often charge us fees upon reception of your package, which we must refuse to pay. In that case, your package will be returned to you. We recommend sending your package through your local post office.
INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS SHIPPING

International express orders does not mean RUSH processing. The amount paid is for the shipping only. We do not have Rush processing for international orders.
*All international packages may be processed through customs regulations, which may cause a slight delay with processing times.
**Once a package has left our facilities any possible delays in the delivery of your package are responsibility of the shipping company (DHL). Ohana is not liable for any delays caused by the shipping company, we have no control over the package once it’s been sent.
** INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: There may be duties and taxes imposed on your order that aren’t reflected in our prices. Check with your local Customs office for those charges. In addition, some countries may charge an additional handling fee for delivery within that country. Ohana is not responsible for any of these charges. The shipping charge only covers the shipping.
Please note that we are not responsible for delivery arrival times/dates, as Customs can hang on to your package for reasons beyond our control.
Our policy lasts 3 days. If 3 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your Ohana must not have been worn, used or washed and it has to be in the same condition that you received it in.
Gift cards are unfortunately not refundable.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email or text message to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. We will refund the amount paid for the swimsuit EXCLUDING the original shipping cost.
Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund 7 business days after it has been posted, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us using our contact form online.
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.
We accept exchanges, only if the swimwear is in its original condition. It must not have been worn, used or washed. You have 3 days after the reception of the product to exchange it. The shipping cost paid to return the swimwear to Ohana Swimwear for an exchange is neither covered nor reimbursed by us!
