In the native Hawaiian culture, the sacred term mana is known as spiritual energy of power and
strength. It’s possible for mana to be present in objects and people. The dashiki pattern and color
represents a unique meaning. The colors used to create this pattern include:
– Black, associated with maturity, spiritual energy, mourning, funeral and passing rites.
– Blue, associated with peace, togetherness, love and harmony.
– Yellow, which represents wealth and royalty.
-Red which has association to sacrifice.
All these colors and patterns come together to bring ‘unity in diversity’.
